DSC Foundation President Russell Stacy

Russell Stacy is a fourth generation Agri-Business operator in Natchitoches, Louisiana and owns an outfitting business in Meeker, Colorado with his partner and wife, Mary Edith. Managing multiple Agribusiness entities and an Agri-tourism entity, Stacy has accumulated a wide berth of knowledge as demonstrated by his 30+ years in the industries. Adaptability to the changing environment, sound decision-making skills, and an abundance of creative energy are all strengths that he relies upon daily to make sound business decisions.

Hunting has been a tradition in Stacy’s family for all his life. His father began taking him whitetail deer hunting in Falfurrias, Texas at six years old. The family continued to hunt in the area to include Eagle Pass, Loma Alta, Uvalde County, Maverick County, and Zavala County for 30+ years. To this day, Stacy still hunts in the South Texas area with his wife, and daughter, Kaylee Ann. Once his daughter turned six, the family began journeys on ten international safaris: Namibia {2014), New Zealand {2015, 2017), Australia {2018}, Zimbabwe {2019}, South Africa {2021), New Zealand {2022}, Spain {2023}, Macedonia} 2023 and South Africa (2024}. The entire family has also traveled extensively in the US and Canada to many domestic hunting destinations

Involvement in conservation and wildlife organizations has been an integral part of Stacy’s career development and philanthropic endeavors. He began as a young child attending local Ducks Unlimited youth programs and local banquets. Stacy currently holds Life Memberships in the following: Dallas Safari Club {DSC}, Houston Safari Club, National Rifle Association, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Texas Wildlife Association, Alaska Professional Guides Association, Wild Sheep Association and Safari Club International.

Since becoming a Life Member in DSC {2011}, Stacy has served as a volunteer, Co-Chair and, Chair of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Life Member Breakfast and 2023,2024 and 2025 Convention Chair. He and his family also served as greeters at the Exhibitors Breakfast during the 2020 Heritage Convention. For the 2019-2020 year, he accepted an appointment and fulfilled the duties of an Assistant Vice President for DSC. He accepted an appointment and fulfilled the duties of a Director for DSC for 2020-2022. In 2020, Russell accepted an appointment to the DSC Foundation Board of Directors which he continues to hold. He has served as the Co-Chair of the Auction Committee for the 2021, 2022,2023,2024 and 2025 Conventions. Stacy and his family have made donations over the past nine years to the Ladies Luncheon and Life Member Breakfast Silent and Live Auctions.

Stacy has been an avid collector of firearms and knives since a very young age. Through his collecting endeavors coupled with attendance at auctions all around the country and on line, he has developed a keen eye for product valuation and marketability of collectible and commonly used firearms and knives. This unique ability has earned him the reputation of a “go-to guy” amongst his friends, business associates and hunting contacts.

Stacy earned a BS in Agri-Business {1990} from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. He currently resides in Natchitoches, Louisiana with his wife and daughter.
