Larry Weishuhn

Larry Weishuhn, formerly a DSC Foundation Board Member, now serving as an Advisor to Board has long worked as a professional wildlife biologist and wildlife management consultant. Larry has been “involved” with DSC since the early 1980s.  As an outdoor writer Larry written over 4,000 feature articles, columns and blogs and has served on staff with such publications as Shooting Times, Sporting Classics, Petersen’s Hunting, numerous others and has been a Field Editor for DSC’ Game Trails for over 25 years.  He has also written 12 books.

Larry has served as a host or co-host in well over 500 television show episodes and today co-host the weekly digital TV show A Sportsman’s Life.  Larry too hosts a weekly podcast, DSC’s Campfire with Larry Weishuhn, and for the past 18 years has done a weekly radio show segment for Catfish Radio with Luke Clayton and Friends, which now too is a weekly podcast.

In 2007 Larry was inducted into the National Legends of the Outdoor Hall of Fame. He has been awarded the prestigious Zeiss Outdoors Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the American Outdoor News Lifetime Award!

Even though know universally as “Mr. Whitetails” because of his work with whitetail deer he had hunted big game on six continents!

In 1985 Larry co-founded the Texas Wildlife Association.  He is a Life Member of numerous organizations, including DSC.

Larry frequently serves as an after dinner speaker and master of ceremonies.

He strongly believes DSC and DSCF are this world’s two finest wildlife organizations!
