Larry Herwig is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys all outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, sporting clays, and golf. He spends time at his ranch south of Dallas near Corsicana, TX and raises angus cattle when he is not working, grand-parenting, or hunting.
Dr. Herwig received his chemistry degree in 1980 from Southwest Texas State University and is a 1984 graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry. He is originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and hunted and fished all over south Texas while growing up. He has now has lived in Dallas since 1980 and is married to Roxanne, with two daughters, Brittany and Leslie and 4 grandchildren.
Dr. Herwig is very active in his profession and has served in many leadership roles in dentistry as well as in the community, including 7 foundation boards, and he has been president or chairman of many of those. Notably, he established the Agape Hospital Dental Clinic near Hosur, India where he still volunteers. He is an emeritus member on the Texas State University Development Foundation Board and a founding member of the Great Expectations Dental Mentor program in Dallas. Currently,
Dr. Herwig is on the DSC Foundation board and is also a co-owner of the InternationalSportsman.com website that focuses on the outdoor industry’s products, services, and adventures, both domestic and abroad.
